Position SummaryResponsible for providing accounting reconciliation support to the revenue cycle department at the central business office. Prepares and analyzes reports for the corporate accounting department and directors in the revenue cycle. Ensures timely review and resolution of outstanding transactions to successfully tie A/R to the General Ledger.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.Prepares spreadsheets and logs for deposits and posting to the sub-ledger.Researches, tracks, and resolves account reconciliation problems.Reconciles GE/IDX business transactions and postings. Keys daily worksheets to be used to upload to the general ledger system.Records and tracks daily charges, posting and refunds.Supports Finance and Accounting personnel by providing deposit reports, batch proofs, and payment source documents in support of reconciling transactions.Tracks outstanding Cashier Deposits and follows-up to ensure all time-of-service payments are accounted for and reconciled to bank statement.Utilizes GE/IDX system to generate reports, paying close attention to detailed transactions, and identifying anomalies.Processes reports for month end bank account reconciliation and auditors review.Escalates issues related to process gaps and timely handling of transactions. Including deviation from standard operating procedures or controls. Adheres to MFA iCARE culture of high quality and great customer service, accountability, and respect.Performs other duties that may be necessary or in the best interest of the organization. QualificationsThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.3-5 years' experience in accounting at an intermediate level in a healthcare practice or system.Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Ability to work with a large number of transactions. Attention to detail with the ability to identify trends, root cause analysis, and interpret data from reports, payer documents, or internal financial data. Organizational skills to support leadership of this function. Good listening and comprehension skills to follow instructions to minimize errors and misinterpretations.Knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding HIPAA and PHI. Education: A Bachelor's degree in business administration with a major in accounting or an equivalent combination of training and experience is necessary.Competencies Ability to do math calculations, input data into the computer, and analyze data as requested. Must be able to communicate providing verbal feedback in a professional manner. Must be able to follow and understand instructions, and react favorably in all work situations. Must be mentally adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people.
