Hours Standard Business Hours Monday -Friday Description Overview Vectors is seeking an innovative, creative Head of Architecture who is ready to take on challenges, responsibilities, and rewards. We need someone with great leadership skills and the ability to work within a high-energy, fast-paced environment. We are looking for someone who is dedicated to their work and who can help our client provide next generation solutions for broadband IP networking via satellite networks. KEY JOB RESPONSIBLITIES Lead the technical and business discussions relative to organization's product strategy and its evolution. Lead technology decision-making across multiple product lines of the organization. Translate the technical vision into a systems architecture by leading and facilitating the creation of the robust architecture principles and technology blueprints. Collaborate with Product Management Team to establish a technology research strategy and product roadmap. Contribute to the development of software, data and technology strategies that are service-oriented with reusable components across product lines. Ensures the architecture is optimum for product operation efficiency, performance, scalability, virtualization, etc. Lead LOE (Level of Estimate), ROM (Rough order of magnitude) costs, and T-Shirt sizing for new engagementsprogramsprojects, systemsolution architecture. Develop peer and cross-functional relationships to maximize best practice sharing and team effectiveness. Select, train, develop, manage and lead the team. EDUCATION BS degree in Computer Science Electrical Engineering required Masters' degree preferred POSITION SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS Minimum of fifteen years of experience in systems andor software design, architecture, and development in the mobile, wireless or satellite communications industry. Strongly versed in system architecture principles and must demonstrate a wide range of ArchitectureEngineering experiences including many of the areas of Security, Performance Scalability, API management, Messaging, Authentication over large-scale distributed engineering platforms. Must have experience in estimating resource and schedule (LoE) for new engagements, programs, projects, systemsolution architecture. Broad understanding of telco Satcomm industry trends across product engineering design, software development architecture is required. Must have experience in the design and development of mobile, wireless or satellite communication networks or products, cloud platforms. Knowledge in AI, IoE is helpful. Knowledge of MobileCellular networks such as 4G, 5G is highly desirable. Experience in the design and development of Software Defined Networks, cloud-native scalable applications, and distributed hyper converged solutions is required. Experience in design and automation of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) capabilities including virtual networks, virtual machines, cloud services, data services, etc. is a Plus. Experience and knowledge in embedded systems is required. Knowledge of programming language such as C, C++, or Java and object-oriented design and programming is desirable. Experience with continuous delivery solutions, preferably employing AWS, is a must PROFESSIONAL QUALITIES Leadership not only at the mid to senior organizational levels, but at the individual level as well. Must have a strong, pragmatic approach to leading technical architecture and development solutions, with a proven record in technology strategy planning and delivery. Communication Must have the ability to communicate technical informationroadmapstrategies effectively and efficiently to both technical and non-technical management and staff. Customer-centric Must have an absolute focus on customer experience (internal or external). Improvisation the ability to think across disciplines and existing boundaries (technologies business geographies) - lateral thinking. Collaboration Proven ability to pull a diverse group of individuals with different goals together to facilitate, moderate, and influence productive discussions driving towards results. With a positive approach to ambiguity. Research an inclination to continuous research inside and outside the current focus fields. Influence by example scientific proof of an idea (success or failure) as the presentation tool - represent an idea to promote it.
