LAN Support Representative Position Overview We are looking for a LAN Support Representative who will be responsible for managing Microsoft servers and clients, including over 250 servers and 250 clients. Also responsible for performing a variety of maintenance, evaluation, installation, remediation and training tasks to enable users and customers to maximize productivity. Incumbent is responsible for enforcing security procedures and assisting in the planning, deploying, and maintaining corporate hardware and software. Performs server, client, and software administration including designing, procuring, implementing, monitoring, updating, reporting, and auditing. Troubleshoots hardware, software, and basic networking issues for Microsoft Windows servers and clients to ensure productivity is maximized. Monitors and supports Active Directory, including user and computer provisioning, policies, and architecture. Monitors and supports VMWare environment, including user and computer provisioning, storage, configuration, and updates. Works with the Microsoft Engineer to support higher-level infrastructure and applications including DHCP, DNS, ADFS, and TMG. Administers Office365 Exchange and SharePoint environment including provisioning, licensing, configuring, and auditing. Maintains and supports Windows-related storage including file shares, permissions, applications, and security. Performs basic administrative functions with regards to enterprise-level SAN equipment including NetApp and Nimble. Responds to the needs and questions of users concerning access to resources and operation of various software programs. Remains abreast of changes in user, system software and hardware technologies and best practices, including functionality, security threats, mitigations, and detections. Manages the documentation of Windows servers and clients, keeping system information current. Assists SVP of IT and Project Delivery with the execution, implementation and completion of various corporate and departmental projects. Develops and manages project plans through their lifecycle. Manages and maintains printing services and devices. Maintains backups of systems and solutions through Veeam and NetWorker. Assists with certificate management through third-party Certificate Authorities. Evaluates and recommends purchase of computers, peripheral equipment and software licensing. Provides technical consulting services to departmentorganization regarding use of computers and networks to satisfy business needs. Develops instructions and conducts various trainings for system users on operating systems and other applications. Performs other duties and assignments associated with the position that are reasonably assigned to support the overall needs of the business. The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a computer-related field. 5+ years of related experience of which three (3) must be with specialized experience. Specialized experience includes knowledge and analysis of TCPIP, SMTP, and SMB protocols. Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or equivalent is a must. General experience includes all aspects of communication networks planning, system security, installation, and support. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency and ability to implement work with stablished guidelines on the following technologies Active Directory, Office 365, malware protection and prevention, basic networking, Microsoft Office, SQL, VMWare, IIS, SSL, general email technology, Hewlett Packard hardware and Insight Manager, SharePoint, NetApp and Nimble storage. Ability to acquire or demonstrate proficiency with minimal oversight on the following technologies is preferred image deployment (MDT, Ghost, SCCM, Clonezilla, FOG, etc.), TMG, Veeam, Networker, MDM, and Websense. Familiarity with scripting languages is highly preferred Responsible for periodic on-call duty. When on duty, must coordinate and triage events, incidents and emergency requests. Must possess strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to multi-task and troubleshoot is required. Strong planning, organizational skills and attention to detail are a must. Implementation of plans and procedures are also required. Strong written and oral communication skills are required. Must have a broad understanding of principles, concepts and techniques of a technical support area including the impact on peripheral business areas. Must be able to independently and organize own work to meet established objectives. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is required.
