IT Infrastructure Architect Comprobase is looking to fill a role for an IT Infrastructure Architect . Position Summary The IT Infrastructure Architect is responsible for the design, implementation and support of business critical hardware and software throughout the organization. This will include developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas, particularly network infrastructure, server infrastructure, data communications, and telecommunications systems. The IT Infrastructure Architect will assist the IT support team to resolve hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion. Interacts with and coordinates activities of voice, data, and network service providers. The IT Infrastructure Architect will analyze system requirements for existing system to ensure they offer adequate security and are effectively meeting the needs of the organization. They will also analyze business requirements to identify where they can integrate new hardware, software or other solutions. They must be able to use their knowledge of IT to present recommendations clearly and understandably to senior management. Heshe will use their experience to work with the entire IT team on any technical issues and advise about potential fixes. They will be responsible for coordinating between Continental and external vendor and contractors on IT related infrastructure and development. It is necessary for the potential candidate to have a strong IT acumen and an appreciation of customer experience. Ideally, the candidate will have a good understanding of the basic AWS architecture and the core AWS services and have hands-on experience designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining applications. Technical expertise and conceptual knowledge of the operational aspects of the AWS platform is desired. Previous experience as a Linux or Windows administrator will be a plus. Ability to establish an exceptional working relationship with teams across all business areas. Key Responsibilities ResultsAccountabilities Subject matter expert and maintains the infrastructure strategies, standards, and IT roadmaps Maintains network hardware and software, including servers, firewalls, edge devices, voice, peripherals, network nodes, terminals and cabling Works with consultants and IT service providers to ensure that the computer system platform provides sufficient computing resources to deliver the desired level of business performance Checks systems to optimize performance and to initiate recovery action after system failures Responsible for the monthly server and workstation patching Maintains network stability, collects and analyzes network and memory utilization, and installs and tests software patches and upgrades Establishes budgetary requirements for equipment replacement Coordinate the needs of in-house IT experts and remote employees, vendors and contractors Manages computer operation scheduling, backup, storage and retrieval functions Responsible for the installation of new hardware and software and assist in training of employees on its use Comfortable with a manufacturing environment and interactions with plant employees Coordinates third-party maintenance for network hardware, software and telecom services Develops, maintains and tests disaster recovery plans Offer suggestions for possible upgrades and changes within the IT department Travel requirement 15-20 Protect customer data from outside infiltration through encryption, secure data storage and other necessary means Ensures all computer hardware and enterprise applications operate reliably and effectively as per Service Level Agreements Ensures that all changes to system or network hardware are compliant with Continental standards, and will function reliably and efficiently Manages large and small projects to ensure that they are properly prioritized, are completed on time and within budget Ensures that all appropriate training programs and documentation are in place to support new or changing applications Adheres to all CBP IT processes, including incident management, change management and demand management Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas Ensures compliance with internal control procedures - communicating problems in operations, unwarranted deviations from established standards, and violations of policy or law. Relationships with Others Jobs Provide support and management of outside IT consultants and contractors Works in partnership with the Business and IT leaders when defining user needs for any new hardware or software solutions. Shares knowledge and best practices within the IT team. Working with IT team to validate proposed solutions and ensure they meet standards. Where training personnel are involved, partners with them to ensure users obtain appropriate documentation and guidance. Qualification Profile Education and Work Experience Bachelor s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related discipline preferred VMware VCP, MCSE, CCNA, or equivalent certification AWS and or VOIP telephony certifications a plus Knowledge and Skills Experience planning and implementing system life cycle processes. Experience designing high availability production, disaster recovery and test environments. Managerial experience leading and coaching technical teams. Experience as a lead architect on large, multi-period, entity-wide projects. Excellent analytical and communications skills. Ability to communicate with 3rd party vendors and perform negotiations Technology-Specific Requirements 5+ years of experience as an IT Infrastructure Lead (or Senior NetworkInfrastructure Engineer) 5+ years of expert level hands-on skills with server virtualization technologies such as VMWare, Hyper-V or Citrix 5+ years of expert level hands-on skills with storage virtualization technologies such as EMC. System management of Microsoft Servers, Active Directory, HPUX Unix, Linux, Mac OSX systems, LAN and WAN Experience implementing VoIP and IP-based PBX systems Working knowledge of the following Internet protocols, VPN and Firewalls VOIP Office 365 SD-WAN Network troubleshooting, monitoring and maintenance tools and techniques
