Job title DevOps Architect Location Falls Church, VA (onsite) Type Full Time Status Must be a US Citizen Summary Client is looking for a Team Lead with strong systems, software, cloud, and Agile experience to support a complex program to provide Agile development and operations and maintenance for critical systems in support of DHS US Citizenship and Immigration Services. The team will be part of an exciting ecosystem, participating with federal employees, and other contractors, in a team based DevSecOps approach to deliver mission value frequently, cost-effectively, responsively, and with high quality. In this hands-on position, you will work collaboratively with other companies to architect, design, build, deliver, and enhance highly available, scalable, real time systems. You will exercise your judgment in determining and recommending the best designs based on customer business objectives, timelines and other resource constraints. You will participate in andor direct major deliverables of projects through all aspects of the software development lifecycle including scope and work estimation, architecture and design, coding and unit testing. Prior DHS USCIS experience is a plus but not required. Job Description The DevOps Architect works with developers, testers, and IT operational staff to administer source code management toolsets, automate builds and deployments, configure continuous integration environments, and contribute to all facets of the software build and release cycles. The DevOps Architect will also be responsible for defining and implementing DevOps and Containerization best practices, software release pipelines, and automation to be leveraged across the enterprise. Individual contributor who oversees large, technically complex projects. Consistently works on complex assignments requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues. Works with minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent judgement. Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may supervise in a technical matrix organization. Positions is recognized as a subject matter expert within a particular discipline. Knowledgeable of emerging trends and may contribute to and influence best practices within discipline. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Creativedevelopmentindependent judgment responsibilities Defines, develops, and implements the configuration management system which supports the enterprise software development life cycle (SDLC) Manages source code within the Version Control System (ie branching, sync, merge), compiles, assembles and packages software from source code, and mentors less senior team members in this discipline Works to perform and validate installations upgrades deployments containers Defines and provides guidance on standardsbest practices Develops automation scripts for build, deployment, and versioning activities, and mentors less senior team members in this discipline AdministrativeRoutine responsibilities Researches and resolves technical problems associated with the version control and continuous integration systems Required Qualifications Minimum 75 of their contribution to development efforts (design, develop, test, deploy) in their current and recent previous experience Minimum 1 year of hands on experience with majority the following Angular Spring Spring Boot Java Hibernate JPA Mongo or Postgres Jetty Microservices OpenShift Gradle Maven Ant Junit Bitbucket Cucumber SonarQube CICD pipeline Jenkins Git Cloudwatch Jira Confluence Eclipse Understanding of software processes and methodologies and ability to speak intelligently about them Expertise with DevOps frameworks Knowledge of software design patterns specifically Microservices Proficiency with common Agile practices, service-oriented environments, and better development practice Proficiency with Agile management tools such as the Atlassian suite Excellent written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications AWS expertisecerts 508 experienceexpertise Certified Scrum Master (CSM) PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) Experience supporting Agile projects for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Required Skills Java Expertise with DevOps frameworks Knowledge of software design patterns specifically Microservices Education Bachelor s degree or Master s degree At least twelve (12) years experience relevant experience Travel Open to travel based up on the nature of the engagement Regards Srikanth-D 312-448-6138 Equal Employment Opportunity Reliable Software Resources employment does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age or any other basis as covered by federal, state, or local law.
