Ashley Addiction Treatment is seeking an Administrative Nurse Technician in providing patient care and treatment in accordance with the Medical Department Standards. Assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment, assists the patient care team to provide various patient care activities and maintains customer service focus essential for a smooth operation. The age of the population served is age 18 to geriatric. Physical search of patients and their belongings will be required. Will have contact with bodily fluids (blood borne pathogens) and drug paraphernalia, which will require use of protective equipment (gloves). This position is FT and works Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm.Clinical Skills1.Accurately takes and records vital signs, assists patients with Glucometer testing and obtains Breathalyzer readings. 2.Assists with new admissions; completes personal searches.3.Obtains and labels urine specimens for drug screens. Completes on-site urine drug screens and pregnancy tests.4.Assists compromised patients requiring observation and assistance.5.Obtains accurate information regarding each patient's condition and provides to the nurse in a timely manner.6.Follows appropriate procedures for handling patient valuables and meds.7.This position interacts directly with our mental health patients. In that role, in addition to performing your regular job duties, you also serve as a role model and authority figure to our patients. As such it is critical that as direct patient care staff, you ensure that your competence or objectivity is not or could not reasonably be expected to be impaired due to mental, emotional, physiological, pharmacological, substance abuse or personal problems (COMAR Chapter 03 - Code of Ethics - .06 B1).HIPAA - Personal Health InformationProtects personally identifiable health information; adheres to release of information per policy and procedure (written, oral and electronic). Adheres to IT and business related communications confidentiality policies.Minimum Qualifications:1.Experience as a Nursing Assistant, Medical Technician, Nursing stint first semester in home health or acute/intermediate care facility is recommended.2.Addiction experience is desirable. May require up to 3 weeks of orientation with a nurse.3.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed medical instructions. Be sensitive to the needs of chemically dependent patients.4.Ability to deal with problems utilizing effective communication skills.5.Must have the ability to sit for extended periods of time; work at a computer terminal6.Ability to lift more than 50 pounds. Must be able to push a wheel chair.7.Physical search of patients and their belongings will be required. Will have contact with bodily fluids (blood borne pathogens) and drug paraphernalia, which will require use of protective equipment (gloves).8.Must be CPR certified; BCLS certification.9.Previous Technician experience is required.Work Environment:Must be professional in appearance and demeanor. Sit for long periods of time and use computer and office equipment. Spend long periods on the phone using a headset. Office Setting.
