SS. Philip and James Catholic Church, located in Baltimore, is seeking candidates for a Building and Grounds Supervisor. The supervisor will be the main caretaker of the parish property, which includes the church, rectory and parking lot. Job Responsibilities: Cleans, sweeps, vacuums, and polishes floors in church. Uses various tools, equipment, and cleaning materials to include, but not limited to hand and power scrubbing and polishing equipment, small and large vacuum cleaners, large commercial type buffer, broom, dust brush, dust pan, wet and dry mop, bucket mop wringer, special cleaning solution, and chemical cleanersPerform general grounds work, including, but not limited to: remove trash; mow lawn, trim shrubs; weed gardens; water lawn and shrubs; clear sidewalks; remove snow and ice; unload, store, and distribute suppliesEstablish and adhere to a Preventive Maintenance program for the building and assigned systemsHelp schedule, coordinate, and monitor the work of approved ContractorsCoordinate and assist with the work of moving furniture and fixtures for work area remodeling and repairAbility to perform minor repairs preferred, eg: painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, furniture and equipment repair and assembly; window blinds, fixtures, etc.Perform other duties as requiredJob Requirements:High School Diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum of five (5) years' relevant experience in care-taking and maintenanceAbility to read and interpret basic architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings requiredAbility to maintain budgets, and ability to utilize emailAbility to perform minor repairs preferred, eg: painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, furniture and equipment repair and assembly; window blinds, fixtures, etc.Ability to work independently, make decisions, and manage work assignments that directly influence staff productivityIncumbent must be able to move furniture, equipment and other materials weighing up to and in excess of 100 pounds; to move about within tight spaces where large equipment is stored; to operate various types of manual and power tools and automated systems; and to ascend/descend a ladder as needed
