Position Summary Pharmacy Technician: Patient Care Coordination We are a specialty and compounding pharmacy in search for an energetic, detail oriented pharmacy technician committed to delivering exceptional results. You will have the opportunity to learn and develop the various aspects of professional pharmacy compounding in a fun, fast paced call center environment with an emphasis on working with patients and practitioners. Fun/productive atmosphere and awesome co-workers What you'll be doing: Call center based Pharmacy Technician, also known as a Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) with ongoing patient management responsibilities Enters new and refill prescription orders into computer software program Responsible for all data entry required to process a prescription for patients and practitioners Understands the process of insurance verification and online prescription adjudication Investigates patient insurance benefits and other supplemental payor information in order to maximize prescription medication funding and minimize out of pocket patient expenses Place outbound calls to gather patient information needed to process an order Place outbound calls to coordinate payments and shipping Handles inbound calls from customers to identify their needs and provide the right solution Places scheduled calls to patients in order to: Monitor compliance/persistence of medications, Document adverse reactions Refer patients to the clinical pharmacist when necessary General follow up with patients Makes contact with physician offices to verify refills and facilitate relevant communications regarding patient therapy and billing Notifies pharmacist of relevant clinical information gathered during calls to provider or patient that may affect a patient's disease state, medication regimen, or method of funding Constant communication with health care providers, pharmacy benefit managers and patients in order to ensure the timely delivery of medications What you'll bring to Akina Compassion, Service, Attitude of a Go-Getter and Excellence A positive attitude and a strong work ethic that is contagious Flexibility and a strong desire to do what is best for your team Respect and strong communication skills Strong computer, data entry, and internet skills Extremely customer-focused and solutions-oriented Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast paced environment Ability to multi-mask and prioritize Knowledge with medications is preferred Knowledge and experience in a compounding/specialty pharmacy is preferred but not necessary Licenses and Certifications Pharmacy Technician License is required
