*Please, no recruiter solicitations* General Summary The Hardware Engineer is responsible for supporting the full range of engineering development and support activities including concept, design, prototype, test, fielding, transition to production manufacturing, and support of fielded systems. Design tasks include board-level hardware design, firmware design, box-level conceptualization, and cable harnesses and assemblies. Circuit design tasks include power, logic, high-speed and high reliability circuit design. Integration tasks include protocol coordination, power translation, and cabling. Essential Job Functions Mixed signal circuit design, schematic capture, PCB Layout, & support for mfg. Design background to include power supply design, high-speed design, analog design, and logic design Work with chip vendors to source parts and implement designs Circuit simulation and evaluation Microcontroller and FPGA programming, firmware, and device application code Support mechanical and system level designs Participate in internal peer reviews and present design reviews Create test plans, test environments, and perform robust testing at the component, board, unit, and system level. Design and test to ensure products operate within the environmental requirements such as those in MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461/464, or applicable UL standards. Integrate and test hardware and software at the system level to assure customer level requirements are met Field testing and customer support Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities BSEE or equivalent required. MS preferred. 4-6+ years of experience development, design, test, & fielding of systems. Range of acceptable experience will depend on the number of years of experience relevant to this job description. Power supply and analog circuity experience. Proficiency with Altium. Working knowledge of C, C++, or VHDL a plus. Basic soldering skills are required; rework skills a plus. The ability to interact professionally and effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, decision making ability, and attention to detail. Ability to obtain a US DoD SECRET Security Clearance is required.
