Xator Corporation is seeking an experienced engineer to plan, survey and design integrated electronic security systems (ESS) including physical security equipment and other automated systems. Principal Duties: The ESS Design Engineer responsibilities include: Performing and documenting technical security surveys. Identifying security threats, vulnerabilities and risks Analyzing threats, vulnerabilities and risks Specifying ESS solutions, requirements and procedural measures to mitigate threats, vulnerabilities and risks. Producing a variety of written documents including memoranda, trip reports, and security survey reports; ESS design drawings and schematics; equipment and material takeoffs; installation and specification packages; and statements of work. Perform travel to customer locations throughout the world. Engage in work that can on occasion be physically demanding. Specify, design and install ESS equipment and products including: Communications and power infrastructure. Intrusion detection systems (IDS), physical access control systems (PACS), closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems, delay/denial systems and security lighting systems. Computer systems/encryption, firewalls, forensics, network intrusion monitoring, and system security audit products. General Requirements: The Xator ESS Design Engineer has a strong understanding of Department of Defense (DoD) and other Federal agencies' policies, regulations and requirements for electronic security planning, design and implementation. The ESS Design Engineer is thoroughly familiar with Federal and DoD policy documents, such as DOD 5200.8-R, AFI 31-101, AR 190-13, UFC 4-021-02 and UFGS 28 10 05. The candidate will travel to various project locations and use a variety of survey and assessment methods to evaluate a system's security risk. This includes running automated tools, using mechanical measurement devices, manual configuration checks, conducting interviews, reviewing documentation and developing system design basis. People Management Skills: Ability to work in diverse, multi-functional teams responsible for delivering high-quality technical solutions on time and within budget. Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with multiple stakeholders and ensures appropriate management and customer involvement. Customer Interface Skills: Must be able to listen to and understand customer requirements and concerns, and assure customers we are executing effectively and efficiently. Ability to handle stressful situations and demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills. Position requires US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance. Education and Experience: Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering/technical field from an accredited college or university is required. Equivalent education and experience designing ESS may be substituted for the Bachelor's degree. Three (3) to five (5) years of current experience conducting security surveys; performing product evaluations and specifying, designing and installing ESS equipment and products. Must have and maintain expert level of knowledge of ESS technology, application and Must have at least one security industry certification from one of the following: Honeywell-Vindicator Will-Burt LINX Predator Elite Software House CCure 9000 Lenel OnGuard Must possess direct working knowledge of computer systems, operating systems, hardware platforms, software applications, power infrastructure, outside plant, communications infrastructure and analog, digital and IP networks, Must possess direct working knowledge and experience applying NFPA 70 (NEC) and NFPA 101 (Life Safety).
