PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful applicant will join ATR's Engineering Services Division, working as a team member at our government client site to perform underwater and airborne noise modelling and analysis as applied to Navy platforms. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Minimum Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Physics, Mathematics Advanced degree preferred Minimum 3 years of programming and algorithm development experience desired Job experience in acoustics with the Navy or other DoD laboratories is a plus SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate must have professional ability to apply scientific methodology to engineering problems, and must be a self-starter and willing to learn. We are looking for applicants with a high level of technical/intellectual curiosity and the ability to work independently. Effective written and verbal communication skills with ability to present complex information effectively to a range of audiences. Experiences in software development: MATLAB, C/C++, Python and FORTRAN Experiences in scripting tools using MATLAB and Graphical User Interface (GUI) Experiences in data analytics algorithm development Knowledge of airborne noise propagation, reflections and environmental impacts Ability to perform acoustic data acquisition and analysis OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Candidate must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance or favorable adjudication of a national security background investigation. Current successful background investigation completion is a plus.
