Position Objective: The position is responsible for supporting Nursing Operations, Manager of Nursing Operations and Director of Nursing Operations in the success of the hospital's strategic objectives and mission as they relate to support of patient throughput, staffing, quality and patient safety. Directs nursing operations by maintaining effective working relationships between departments, including but not limited to: staffing needs, emergency code response, serves as daily resource for Acute Care Pavilion and supervisor for nursing operations staff. Ensures that staffing coincides with patient census and acuity. Serves as a liaison between patients, family, staff, and professional staff in clinical and administrative situations when indicated. Collaborates with Logistics RN to facilitate patient throughput and moves between multiple software systems to ascertain relevant and timely data and information. Works with the Manager and Director to monitor, develop, review and make recommendations to department leadership regarding programs, processes, and technologies affecting efficient throughput and staffing. Works with IS and business teams to develop analytical and reporting capabilities and tools to support decision-making and improvement efforts related to throughput; recommends and implements efficiencies and process changes through use of data and evidence-based practices. Works with Performance Improvement through lean activities to identify, formulate, recommend and implement changes impacting patient flow; analyzes data for managing daily improvement. Educational/Experience Requirements: The minimum level of education and experience for this position includes: BSN Degree Three years of active nursing experience in an acute care setting with one-year progressive charge/supervisor responsibilities, preferable to have previous experience with direct oversight of staff. Proven experience in change management and demonstrated analytical capabilities. Required License/Certifications N/A Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Proven ability to use data/business analytics to drive change. Demonstrated ability to proactively engage in departmental change, including making recommendations, supporting implementation, and monitoring sustainability. Ability to lead with the highest degree of professional and personal integrity Effective verbal and written communication skills; effective cross-department collaboration skills. Working Conditions, Equipment, Physical Demands: There is reasonable expectation that employees in this position will be exposed to blood-borne pathogens. Physical Demands - Medium work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move object.
