We continue to thrive and need your talent and motivation to help propel us farther, faster. Jacobs is seeking a Logical Implementation Team Engineer at a customer facility in the Reston, VA area. Duties will include: Works within various organizations ensuring network systems and components are successfully integrated. The job function requires detailed understanding and prior hands-on experience of EIGRP, OSP, BGP/MP-BGP, and MPLS routing protocols. Receipt of project tasking, review of approved engineering design, validation of router/switch/firewall including complex scripts, network implementation, testing and troubleshooting, and updating leadership team. The candidate must have experience in all facets of network installations, which includes the physical placement of conduit, CAT5 and fiber optic cable, wall jacks, hardware, racks and communications equipment as required. Also includes but not limited to: surveys, installing other conveyances, pulling and terminating cable, determining and implementing required pin outs, installing and configuring equipment chase, cards power supplies, racks, patch panels, etc., testing and documenting installations, dressing and labeling cables, racks, patch panels, etc. Must have TS/SCI with Poly AS degree in information systems or computer science and seven (7) plus years of directly related experience or any equivalent combination of education, experience, training and certifications. Progressive relevant training and/or certification may be substituted for a portion of the experience requirement Experience in cable installation and cable types (Copper, Fiber) Prerequisite knowledge of the latest Cisco and Juniper routing and switching platforms (for Service Provider Core/Edge, Datacenter, and Branch devices). Familiarity of Layer 2 and Layer 3 VPNs. Knowledgeable of Type 1 (Government) and Type 2 (Commercial) Encrypted Cryptographic devices. Hands-on experience with Firewall appliances (VPN Concentrator and Adaptive Security Appliance) is preferred. Must be able to support after hour implementations Preferred Qualification: CCNA Certification Essential Functions Physical Requirements: Most work will be done at a desk or computer. Must be able to lift 75 lbs, bend, kneel, and climb ladders. Must be able to trace cable under raised floors, and above drop ceilings. Work Environment: General Office environment. The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff as well as individuals across the Company and Customers. Equipment & Machines: General office equipment including PC/laptop, Fax, Copiers, Shredder, Printers, Telephone, and other miscellaneous office equipment. Attendance: Attendance is critical at all times. Must be able to work a 40-hour workweek, normally Monday through Friday. However, times and days may vary depending on business requirements. Needs to be available to work overtime during critical peaks and be available to meet last minute requests for overtime should the situation occur.
