JOB SUMMARY: The Director of Communications and Marketing is responsible for leading the development, coordination, and implementation of the Agency's communications efforts across a broad spectrum of platforms. This position serves as a key spokesperson for the organization and is responsible for developing and managing the Agency's communications strategy including media relations, digital platforms and social media, and external community partnerships. Crisis and internal communications are managed in partnership with the Executive Office The goal is to advance the Agency's position with relevant constituents, as well as to drive broader awareness and donor support for the Agency, using varied and integrated communications products and services. This position works closely with the President and CEO, and is a key partner to the Executive Team on issues related to brand management, marketing and leveraging social media for advocacy and support, fundraising development, consistent messaging, and communication of the organization's vision for internal and external stakeholders. Supervisory Responsibility: Provides administrative supervision of 2-3 FTEs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: * Develops and manages an integrated and comprehensive communication strategy to promote and position Catholic Charities brand including media relations, digital platforms, social media, advertising and print collateral, and external community partnerships. * Develops and successfully implements marketing strategies to maximize the effectiveness of all external communications activities. * Establishes a communications function representative of best practices in policy, standards, and procedures including established metrics for evaluation and analysis of such efforts. * Oversees an annual communications budget in line with agency priorities and successfully implements the communications plan and budget to meet established goals and objectives. * In partnership with the Chief Development Officer, works with the Communications Committee of the Board of Directors, leveraging advice and counsel on direction and opportunities. * Provides leadership and direction to all communication personnel. Serves as a mentor and develops staff using a supportive and collaborative approach. Recruits, develops, manages, and retain top talent. Requirements EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: * Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, or related field is required. Master's degree in related disciplines a plus. * Seven (7) years of experience developing and executing communications plans, media relations and publicity efforts with a record of success in both traditional and emerging channels. * Three (3) years of experience managing communication professionals. * Five (5) years of experience in various areas of digital communications including Web site design and maintenance, broadcast e-mails, eNewsletters, graphic design and marketing strategy.
