We continue to thrive and need your talent and motivation to help propel us farther, faster. Jacobs is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer in Reston, VA or Ft. Belvoir, VA. Duties will include: Provide technical and analytical expertise for the design, development, installation, and integration of hardware, software, and other system level requirements to provide an integrated IT and telecommunications solutionGuide the analysis and formulation of user requirements, and development of system architectures and specifications, as well as concept of operations documentsDevelop and oversee integrated system test plans, requirements, and strategies for devices and systemsSupport the oversight of overall system level testingRecommend and support alternative approaches, including feasibility studies, as well as process improvement Use good written and verbal communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills with other contractor team members and government staff and executives Active TS/SCIBS degree in a computer or system science discipline from an accredited college or university and fourteen (14) years of progressive, relevant experience, or an MS degree in a computer or system science discipline and twelve (12) years of progressive experience, or a Ph.D. degree in a computer or system discipline and seven (7) years of progressive experience. Require demonstrated and recognized technical expertise in specialty areas of engineering system design and analysis.Must meet all DoD IAT Level III Certification requirements for administrative access for solution implementationMust have demonstrated experience with the following activitiesAnalyze user's requirements, concept of operations documents, and high level system architectures to develop system requirements specificationsAnalyze system requirements and leads design and development activitiesGuide users in formulating requirements, advises alternative approaches, and conducts feasibility studiesProvide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technologyIncorporate new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operationsDevelop system architecture and system design documentationGuide system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plansInteract with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflictsResponsible for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibilityCommunicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executivesEssential Job Functions Work Environment: General Office/warehouse environment: The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff as well as individuals across the Company and Customers. Physical Requirements: Depending on assignment, work is primarily performed in an office/warehouse environment and may including conditions vary from an office environment where work is primarily sedentary to environments where extensive standing and/or walking; bending; lifting light to heavy objects or being exposed to noise, dust, dirt, etc. Equipment and Machines: General office equipment including PC/laptop, Fax, Copiers, Shredder, Printers, Telephone, and other miscellaneous office equipment. Attendance: Must be able to maintain regular, reliable attendance and ensure on time daily arrival. Attendance is critical at all times. Must be able to work a 40-hour workweek, normally Monday through Friday. However, times and days may vary depending on business requirements. Needs to be available to work overtime during critical peaks and be available to meet last minute requests for overtime should the situation occur. Other Essential Functions: Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others. Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Must be able to interface with individuals at all levels of the organization both verbally and in writing. Must be well-organized with the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously. Must work well under pressure to meet deadline requirements. Must be willing to travel as needed.
