Summary: The Deputy Controller will assist the Controller in managing and overseeing all accounting operations to support the financial accounting and closing processes. The Deputy Controller will report to the Controller and be instrumental in financial statement preparation and reporting for the company and its subsidiary.Responsibilities: Assist in all month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities including journal entry posting, balance sheet reconciliations and corporate expense allocation,Assist in General ledger maintenance including accruals, adjusting entries, account reconciliations, etc.,Assist in the coordination of activities within Accounting team to ensure proper entries are made in payroll, job costing, benefits, and various prepaid/advance accounts,Assist in the management and maintenance of the accuracy of the General Ledger,Assist in closing subsidiary books - maintain and reconcile entity accounts,Assist in ensuring that intercompany work orders and postings are accurate and complete,Assist in identifying any discrepancies in the accounts, troubleshoot origin, and make correcting entries to ensure accurate financial reporting,Assist in the GL account reconciliations and/or oversee the preparation within the team.Assist in overseeing the labor costing process,Assist in maintenance of overhead allocations and the journal entries for the indirect cost allocations,Assist in leading cross-functional teams across the Company's various job sites for compliance changes or process improvement projects, as needed,Assist in the validation of proper revenue recognition treatment and setup,Under oversight from the Controller, prepare annual incurred cost submission to governmental agencies,Assist in developing, managing and enhancing Internal Controls,Assist in following the Company's internal control framework and ensure adherence to objectives,Assist in the identification and implementation of improvements where necessary,Help ensure all accounting records, policies and practices are processed and stored according to Company practice,Assist in the preparation of management reports and assist with completion of the financial covenant compliance packages,Assist in the development and implementation of financial reporting using Maxwell,Assist with corporate cash management and cash flow in respect to Payroll, AR and AP,Coordinate the annual financial audit, set timelines and review the audited financial statements,Assist with annual audits, andAdditional duties as assigned.Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business,CPA and public accounting experience preferred,Construction/Job Cost experience preferred7+ years' experience in accounting and finance,Accounting software experience is required, Excel proficientStrong working knowledge of GAAP and FAR,Excellent verbal and written communication skills,Possess a strong worth ethic and a professional sense of integrity,Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills,Detail oriented,Maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive and confidential information,Possess a positive attitude and work ethic,Must be 18 years or older, andPass background and drug & alcohol screening.
