With more than 80 locations nationwide and 3,000 plus employees, Oldcastle Infrastructure is committed to upholding core values of reliability, quality, and service in cutting edge ways.Job Description SummaryThe Estimator will be responsible for handling the estimating of dry utility, box culvert, Oldcastle Storm water Solutions and other larger scale projects and others to assist the sales staff and production staff. He/she will work with engineering/vendors/production staff to ensure all costs are covered and accurate. When required, he/she will be the main point of contact for the customer/vendors/ and Oldcastle staff to ensure that products are constructed to the required designs/specifications. Additional responsibilities to include:Responsible for estimating multiple projects concurrently and getting proposals to the sales staff when due. Follow-up up on proposals and through the production and submittal process.Learn AX and become an expert at order entry and the accounting process.Contact vendors for pricing and cutsheets on required items, review vendor quotes to make sure those items will meet the required designs/specifications.Reviews sales proposals with sales staff to ensure proper estimating and project requirements, time frames and subcontracting opportunities.Upon project assignment, shares responsibility with the Salesperson to hold a Turnover/Kick Off meeting at the point of sale to ensure all needed information and paperwork are complete and the box folders is properly created; that the scope of work is clear; review the estimate and confirm values for all items; and begins the process of scheduling the project.If possible, utilize AutoCAD/Inventor for assembling proposal plans to clarify scope of work.Utilize public lead sources to search for projects, and bid projects from downloaded plans.Assist with any applicable Change Order Proposals in a timely manner, whether owner/client/architect requested or by generation from Oldcastle.Work with sales team to reprice change order requests and estimate as project scopes of work change.Assist team with answering the main phone line when needed. Requirements5+ years Estimating/Project Management experience preferred, ideally within the construction or precast concrete industryDemonstrated ability to manage several large to small, complex bids/projects simultaneously.
