A client of ours in Washington, DC has an immediate for a Security Engineer in Washington, DC. for a federal client. Overview: The position will be for a technical resource to support the client's Enterprise Security Operations Center to include engineering support, operations, and maintenance of security tools. * Support in areas relating to compliance, assessments, and authorization Expert level experience with one or more of the following tools: o BigFixo Nessus Security Centero HP WebInspecto DbProtecto RES Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must work onsite at client site M-F during normal business hours. Technical Skills: Skill Years/Level of Experience Mandatory Technical experience providing internal/external consulting services to management and technical staff in solving complex information security issues 5-7 Knowledge of security management processes including, but not limited Risk management, Security Planning, IT Security control implementation and testing and logical access controlsPractical knowledge/experience Preferred Experience regularly interacting with clients such as Branch Chiefs, CISO, ISOs, etc. In-depth knowledge/experience Job Responsibilities: * Unix/Linux console engineer/administrator experience* Scripting experience (Perl, Python, PowerShell, etc.)* Respond and resolve customer support ticket requests relating to aforementioned tools via Remedy* Run vulnerability and patching reports, analyze data, and present findings to improve departmental security posture.* Practical knowledge of security management processes including, but not limited to, risk management, security planning, IT security control implementation, testing, and logical access controls* Practical knowledge of federal IT security laws, regulations, and processes* Proven ability to meet schedule and performance requirements for IT security projects Candidate should have experience with one or more of the following tools: IBM BigFix, Nessus Security Center, HP WebInspect, DbProtect, and analyze data, and respond/resolve customer support tickets relating to aforementioned tools.
