Our Finance team serves as a critical business partner responsible for managing all global activities related to financial performance, accounting, tax, forecasting, risk management, and asset management. What will I be doing? As the Senior Analyst, Compensation and Benefits Accounting - Consolidations, you will ensure the accurate and timely consolidation of the Company's financial results, as part of the Global Accounting Consolidations and Reporting Team. The successful candidate combines accounting and analytical skills to effectively and efficiently contribute to the monthly close process, as well as the ability to understand complex accounting transactions. The Team is primarily responsible for Payroll and HR related accounting involving the monthly reporting of actual results in compliance with US GAAP. You will provide support for the Company's compensation and benefits accounting areas. In addition, you will partner with various teams to provide perform accounting, analysis, and other day to day activities associated with the following areas; compensation, bonus, stock compensation plans, development bonus, sales incentive bonus, defined benefit plans, defined contribution plans and deferred compensation programs. Also, you will ensure procedures and duties are properly documented and internal controls are maintained as well as monitor the status and completeness of all tasks, ensuring timely completion in accordance with established deadlines. More specifically, you will: Prepare monthly close journal entries and/or reconciliations Assist in the preparation and review of monthly analytical schedules, account roll forwards, lead schedules, and variance analysis to ensure accuracy of balances, compliance with US GAAP and consistency between business units Assist with external audit process for any defined contribution and defined benefit plans which involves reviewing audit schedules, resolving accounting issues raised in the audit, and the preparation of the financial statements audit reports which includes ensuring that they are correct and complete. Assist with special projects that may involve but not limited to, internal audit, system upgrades, tax issues, and new initiatives Assist in the preparation, review, and analysis of the consolidated financial statements including preparation and/or review of employee benefit footnote Provide a support role for all other consolidation and reporting processes Ensure departmental objectives and workload priorities are followed and achieved providing feedback as necessary Update and maintain accounting internal control policies and procedures and provide supporting documentation to internal audit regarding completion of control procedures Assess actual performance to ensure success and take corrective actions Help to manages relationships with key stakeholders and departments Adhere to Management Reporting deadlines to ensure overall effectiveness What are we looking for?We believe for success in this role, you will be a creative self-starter that demonstrates the following attributes and skills:Proven ability to deal with large volumes of data Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing Ability to analyze departmental financial data Ability to disaggregate, analyze and reconcile consolidated financial data in an accurate and timely manner Understanding of general accounting policies and procedures at a transaction level Ability to coordinate between various corporate offices and hotel finance directors Excellent interpersonal skills to build trust and confidence in order to motivate and influence others Demonstrates the highest standards of ethical behavior and absolute discretion with sensitive information Ability to take initiative to identify, prioritise and implement actions required to achieve functional goals Strong analytical skills including ability to address any issue in collaboration with others, identify and prevent potential problems and develop analytical skills in others Knowledge of general ledger systems and reporting packages, specifically PeopleSoft and Hyperion products Ability to work well under pressure and effectively handle multiple and concurrent demands Ability to collaborate with others and act in an objective manner to stay on track to achieve common goalsTo fulfill this role successfully, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:Three (3) years of professional experience Knowledge of US GAAPIt would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:BA/BS Bachelor's Degree Five (5) years of professional experience Experience with PeopleSoft Advanced level Excel skills Experience with Hyperion Financial ManagementWhat will it be like to work for Hilton?
