A successful construction manager carefully plans and manages the project, communicates exceptionally well with the project team, and tirelessly works to mitigate or resolve project risks that threaten schedule, budget, safety, or quality. Project locations will normally be in the Washington-Baltimore region, but may occasionally involve travel to other locations. Our Construction Managers: *Lead and manage the construction project team through site mobilization, execution, and demobilization activities, consistent with established project delivery processes to ensure the orderly, efficient, and timely completion of the project scope in accordance with requirements specified in the contract documents.*Experience developing construction packages for transit clients, and participating in bid evaluation and preparing award recommendations.*Ensure the completion of the scope of work to the satisfaction of the client, while simultaneously ensuring that Jacobs safety and project performance expectations are upheld.*Understand, and adhere to implement, and train staff in client procedures and policies in the delivery of construction management services.*Act as the primary client contact for project-field activities.*Perform onsite activities that may include construction supervision, field administration, field engineering, and inspection.*Supervise and direct field staff that may include inspectors, assistant resident engineers, construction materials testers, and administrative personnel.*Conduct project meetings with contractor and stakeholders.*Actively manage and report on the status of the project schedule and budget.*Monitor the contract progress and make recommendation to client for contractor payments.*Maintain official project documentation files and logs.*Review and approve submittals, shop drawings, material certifications, and other project deliverables. *Ensure all construction is in compliance with design specifications.*Assist with implementation/interpretation of safety programs.*Complete the project closeout process including the accurate and timely submittal of project records to the clients satisfaction. *Work to build a cooperative partnership between the client, contractor, and all stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of project issues and the overall success of the project.#BIA *Bachelor degree with a major in Construction Management, Program/Project Management, Business or related field.*20 years of experience in Construction Management with a significant portion working with transit agencies.*Proven ability to management complex budgets and schedules.*Ability to work nights and weekends*PMP or CCM CertificateEssential Functions: Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carried of 50 feet. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same. No foot controls necessary. Must be alert to equipment in the field, there will be occasional travel, will work near construction job site equipment when in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.At Jacobs, we help prepare people for new opportunities and challenges.
