ML Force Attorney positions offer experienced legal professionals the opportunity to think differently about the practice of law as they work to support Morgan Lewis clients. As a ML Force Attorney you will have support of the strong Morgan Lewis foundation but retain flexibility over your schedule.Reporting to an assigned partner, the ML Force Attorney provides substantive support to Morgan Lewis teams on a contingent basis. This position can be retained for a specific project, specific period of time or open-ended projects and may require supervision of junior associates, paralegals and non-lawyer legal personnel in their daily activities.Key responsibilities of this position: Counsel clients in a wide range of substantive areas and consistently deliver high level of client interaction using strong project management, strategic and problem-solving skills Provide prompt communication to assigned partner on status updates regarding existing matters Demonstrate initiative and shoulder accountability for the day-to-day aspects of a transaction, matter, or litigation Collaborate with legal and administrative personnel as part of client service teamsElectronically conduct legal research, draft correspondence, motions, memoranda, and transaction documentsRead, analyze, and interpret business and professional publications, prepare business correspondence, proposals and reports, and effectively present the information. Use reason and logical thinking patterns to define problems, collect data, establish facts & patterns, and draw logical conclusions based off civil law considerations and legal principles. Review documents and collect factual dataComplete discrete research assignments at the request of partners Manage and conduct due diligence and investigationsHandle negotiations with opposing counsel Accepts responsibility for successful and timely completion of assigned tasksComplete work accurately and professionally Meets expected levels of industry and commitment to the FirmDemonstrate teamwork and exert respect in work and relationships with lawyers and professional staffOther duties as assigned.Experience/ Qualifications: Juris Doctorate (JD) requiredMust have an active law license in good standing in jurisdiction that employee will be working inMinimum 3 years of legal experience in a law firm or in a comparable legal environmentIndependent, self-starting, and self-motivatedSuperior written/verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and within a team environment are a mustExceptional organization skillsProven ability to meet stringent deadlines, adapt to changing priorities, and balance multiple tasks while operating in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.Ability to think strategically and analytically Effectively present information and respond to questions or challenges both in writing and in personFlexibility to travel and work evening hours at times as neededDemonstrated proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point) and Lexis/Nexis; Westlaw; other research applications preferred .Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP is committed to equal employment opportunity and providing reasonable accommodations to applicants with physical and/or mental disabilities.
