Summary

You will serve as a a Sheet Metal Mechanic (Aircraft) in the Aircraft Department, Industrial Execution Division, Production Trades Branch at Fleet Readiness Center Mid-Atlantic (FRC Southeast Detachment, Oceana) in Norfolk and Oceana, Virginia.

Responsibilities

• You will work with technical derivatives, drawings, manuals and other written or verbal instructions.
• You will assist equivalent and lower-graded employees.
• You will modify aircraft and aircraft components by incorporating aircraft changes.
• You will devise complex templates/patters into shapes.
• You will cut out or otherwise remove damaged parts and insert new parts.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: I have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex tasks including: 1) Performing metal repair and modifying aircraft sheet metal structures and components; 2) Fabricating, assembling, and repairing aircraft structures utilizing sheet metal materials; 3) Examining the extent of damage to determine sequence of operations necessary to affect repairs or replacements; 4) Operating complex hand and power machines such as slip roll forming machines, box and pan breaks to repair sheet metal components; and 5) Reading and interpreting blueprints, technical manuals, schematics, etc. to perform repair of sheet metal components.
