Summary

About the Position: These positions are located at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in multiple departments within the Directorate for Medicine. Tour of Duty is 80 hours per 2 week pay period during Clinic hours from 700-1600.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze and prepare data for interpretation and use throughout the organization.
  • Update and maintain employee competency files in accordance with Joint Commission (JC) requirements.
  • Manage the program for annual training, re-certification, and licensure requirements.
  • Prepare employee non-compliance reports and brief higher level service and directorate personnel.
  • Ensure correspondence, reports, travel orders, etc., are processed correctly and expeditiously.
  • Review incoming and outgoing correspondence, oversee preparation of response to actions not requiring attention of the Chief and/or Health System Specialist.
  • Develop and prepare reporting formats, i.e., pie charts, bar charts, and similar items from data for presentation.
  • Coordinate conferences and meetings by arranging space, time, equipment, and supplies; assemble background and conference materials.
  • Ensure monitoring of agenda and recordkeeping of minutes, establish a system to record commitments made during meetings, and ensure appropriate courtesies are afforded to visitors and other high level officials.

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Tier 3 security investigation or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing.

Specialized Experience for GS-06: Providing administrative support in a medical treatment facility by answering and directing phone calls; reviewing and distributing correspondences; and utilizing office automation programs for complying data for reports from automated healthcare systems such as Composite Health Care System (CHCS), Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA), Defense Travel System (DTS), MS Office, or Essentris.

Specialized Experience for GS-07: One year of specialized experience that is equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal Service performing the following duties: Schedule conferences and/or meetings; Assisting with travel arrangements; and utilizing office automation programs for complying data for reports from automated healthcare systems such as Composite Health Care System (CHCS), Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA), Defense Travel System (DTS), MS Office, or Essentris. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Specialized Experience for GS-08: One year of specialized experience that is equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal Service performing the following duties: Schedule conferences and/or meetings; coordinating travel arrangements; make recommendations regarding disciplinary and incentive actions; and utilizing data from office automation programs, for developing reports, based on data from systems such as Composite Health Care System (CHCS), Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA), Defense Travel System (DTS), MS Office, or Essentris. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
