RESPONSIBILITIES

The Enterprise Analytics (EA) Consultant is among the most senior individual contributor positions in Sentara's Enterprise Analytics organization.

EA Consultant roles typically manage our most critical analytic areas and processes. We engage EA consultants to manage data governance processes, provide broad analytic support to critical stakeholder groups needing expert guidance, and to execute highly complex analytical development efforts. EA consultants also take a leadership and mentorship role within the analytics community, heling other learn and build their skill sets.

These roles regularly involve interaction with relatively senior Sentara personnel, and as such require excellent communication skills and a high level of professional maturity in addition to deep technical expertise. The preferred mix of technical knowledge and skills are in part determined by the specific role, but generally involve knowledge of data architectures and access mechanisms, the ability to manipulate data using a variety of toolsets, including ETL, SQL, R, Python, etc., and the ability to develop interactive deliverables in data visualization tools like Tableau.

Domain knowledge in the following areas are preferred. While all are not required, the ideal candidate will demonstrate understanding of the following: Data exploration & visualization techniques; statistical and non-statistical modeling and optimization for predictive and prescriptive analytics; analytic programming; database management, including the role of master data management, data quality, ETL, storage, processing, and cloud computing; healthcare electronic medical record systems, billing systems, imaging systems, productivity and financial systems in ambulatory, acute, and post-acute settings. Business acumen around basic finance, accounting, operations, management & marketing.
