As a first line operational risk management and business services function, Multifamily Governance and Business Services (G&BS) at Freddie Mac enables the Business to take smart, risk informed decisions and provides effective engagement and integration with the second and third lines of defense.

The mission of G&BS is twofold:
1. Drive strong operational risk management knowledge and practices in Multifamily and the Enterprise that enables the Business to make informed, risk-based decisions
2. Strengthen decision-making and promote efficient business operations through select services, including management reporting, SharePoint development, training, and other business support activities

The Governance and Business Services Professional will support the management reporting and analysis capability and report directly to the VP of G&BS.

Your work will primarily fall into the following categories:

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Executing the development and production of management reporting and analysis: Lead the design, development and generation of management reports, ensuring integrity, accuracy and quality
  • Drive the design and delivery of risk-based training for Multifamily in coordination with applicable risk domain leads
  • Empowering G&BS, Multifamily leadership and Senior Management by driving the production of management reports and the design and delivery of risk-based training

Operations Support:
  • Supporting key activities to the Business including SharePoint development and budget forecasting
  • Supporting the Chief of Staff to the Multifamily DRO for Operational Risk / AMO SVP - organize and prioritize critical issues and required information to facilitate effective decision making by providing advice and insight
  • Communicate at an executive level with the Multifamily DRO for Operational Risk / AMO SVP and his/her peers as an ambassador of G&BS and primary point of contact
  • Grow a focus area for G&BS, set and execute against the G&BS vision and mission
  • Collaborate, interface and cultivate relationships with the Business - build trust
  • Supporting the Business, including SharePoint development and budget forecasting
  • Identify ongoing ways to strengthen decision-making and promote efficient business operations
  • Ensure awareness of ongoing initiatives and relevant internal/external developments


Qualifications

  • Typically as Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent professional experience
  • 5+ years of experience in business management and/or the front office at a large financial services institution(s)
  • Understanding of Freddie Mac's Multifamily business and its overall business processes (e.g., MF loan products, technology used), applicable laws and regulations, and industry frameworks
  • Knowledge of business management practices in Multifamily, Freddie Mac and industry
  • Fundamental understanding of regulatory requirements, industry frameworks and expectations related to Multifamily (e.g., FHFA, prudential standards, Basel, Sarbanes-Oxley) and Freddie Mac's unique position as a GSE
  • Foundational knowledge of information, process and people risk management practices to support reporting responsibilities
  • Proven track record of managing competing departmental priorities
  • Experience with and understanding of Freddie Mac specific data, systems, tools, and processes
  • Experience utilizing SharePoint, including its capabilities, design, architecture and maintenance to meet the needs of G&BS and the Business
