POSITION SUMMARY: Customer Service orientated position primarily responsible for greeting and welcoming, seating, and thanking guests at the restaurant according to Potomac Family Dining Group and Applebee's brand standards for guest service.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:Greets and seats all guests in a friendlyAssists in maintaining the overall guest flow of theEnsures seating service is rotated among server area assignments wheneverOpens doors for arriving and departingRemains visible in the FOH and forward facing the mainOccasionally delivers food and drinks to guests when extra assistance isInteracts verbally with all guests creating a friendly and upbeatCompletes assigned opening and closing side work asParticipates in the clearing and resetting of the dining room tables using Applebee's team deliveryObserves guests, responds to requests, and anticipates guests'Maintains a clean and organized workAbility to explain and demonstrate usage of Tabletop Electronic Devices toAbility to drive sales with suggestive sellingAccommodates any special needs of guests such as booster chairs, high chairs,Manages the waitlist when the restaurant isMay occasionally be scheduled to serve guests in a Carside To-Go or ServerFills out featureAssists in general Front of House maintenance functions including:maintaining restroomslight cleaning such as dusting light fixtures/furniture/woodwork/artifactswashing and/or wiping windowssani-bucket rotationsetting up the expo lineemptying trashrolling silverwaremaintaining restaurant curb appeal EQUIPMENT/ COMPUTER SKILLS:PhoneSoda fountain operationTabletop Electronic DeviceOperation of cleaning tools such as cleaning cloths, buckets, brooms, vacuums, non-electric vacuum sweepersSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: None. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Friendly and engaging demeanor16+ years oldPrior work experience preferredReading, writing, and verbal communication skills requiredBi-lingual experience a plusReliable transportation requiredAbility to build relationshipsAbility to be a team playerAbility to follow manager instructions and guidanceAbility to communicate and behave professionally at all times PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Ability to wipe down table tops, table legs, pick up debris off of the floor, and wipe down booth seats in the bar area of theTransports plates, glasses, and baskets to and from the service bar and kitchen more than 30 times perMobility required during the entireAbility to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for periods of up to four (4) hours inMust have a good sense of balance, be able to reach, bend, stoop, and kneel and frequently lift and bus pans, and trays frequently weighing 25Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to guests and otherTransports and carries objects such as high chairs up to 15 pounds up to 15 times per Travel: Less than 5% WORKING CONDITIONS: Subject to wet floors and loud noises, fast-paced, outdoor conditions.
