Quality Engineer II ( New Church, VA ) 9202729 and 92465687 Month Contract Pay Rate: $50/hr maybe more for the right candidateQuality Engineer position at Wallops Flight Facility ensuring the quality of the integration, test, and launch operations of space vehicles and targets. Primary program of responsibility is the Antares launch vehicle with support to other programs on an occasional basis. Candidate will be responsible for the following: - Provide oversight of integration and test operations to ensure compliance with internal standards and processes. - Review and approve product build documentation to ensure engineering requirements are met. - Perform inspections of Launch Vehicle components and assemblies. - Generate nonconformance reports, review and approve dispositions, and assist in identifying root cause and corrective actions. - Support launch operations. - Evaluate processes to determine where improvements can be made and aid in implementing any necessary process corrections. - Uphold quality standards and workmanship practices as defined in process specifications and by employing quality workmanship standards during everyday job functions.Must be willing to work 2nd and 3rd shift.Prerequisites: - College degree from an accredited 4-year institution - At least 5 years of experience working in a technical fieldDesirables: - Experience with launch vehicles or aerospace - Working knowledge of TipQA and Costpoint database applications
