Are you in cable, satellite, alarm, video surveillance or car audio installation? Are you seeking to apply your troubleshooting skills and electrical component experience in new and varied ways? Apollo Video Technology is seeking a self-motivated individual that wants to continue building their skills and experience with new and different technology. As a Field Service Technician , you'll be working with advanced video surveillance equipment on mobile platforms mass transit vehicles in the Metro DC area. We need an individual to join our team that has experience working with basic schematic or wiring diagrams, knows how to troubleshoot, can self-manage their assigned work and can accurately document all work performed for our client. This is a night shift position 8pm-4am, Sunday thru Thursday - working at locations throughout the Metro DC area. Reliable transportation is required. Mileage is reimbursed. Any offer of employment will be contingent upon satisfactory completion of a background check and drug screen. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Conducts routine preventative maintenance of video surveillance equipment on client's bus fleet Utilizes work orders, related manuals and schematic diagrams to plan and prioritize tasks to be performed and what tools, equipment and parts will be needed for installation or repair assignment Performs various system modifications/retrofit campaigns as needed On occasion works with customer's representative to inspect installations and repairs to verify that work has been performed according to specifications Tests electrical components and replaces faulty components using hand tools Responsible for compliance of service contracts in respect to response times and service levels Communicate, document and report faults and product failure trends Prepare accurate reports that document progress on assigned work orders and sign-off sheets Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent A combination of one to three years of directly related training and/or experience Professional license or related training helpful A+ certification strongly preferred Demonstrated success self-managing assigned work Familiarity with automotive wiring DC, low voltage, etc. Demonstrated experience reading and understanding schematics and wiring diagrams Expertise with electrical systems, use of volt meter and other tools; able to test and record voltages Experience using small tools or hand tools Demonstrated troubleshooting skills electrical systems, software and hardware Proficient with computer applications, including working within Excel spreadsheets and other programs used to document work performed Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, follow directions and procedures, and can make decisions about assigned work without direct supervision Physical Demands and Work Environment: Physically required to frequently sit, stand, talk, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, twist, overhead lift and use hands to finger, handle or feel and to reach The employee may lift up to 50 pounds on occasion Varied field environment performing service work on transit fleet vehicles including in inclement weather Specific vision abilities required by this job are close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus Apollo Video Technology is an equal opportunity employer About Apollo Video Technology: Apollo Video Technology (Apollo Video) , a best-in-class brand of Luminator Technology Group (LTG) , is a leading manufacturer of mobile video surveillance, fleet and information management solutions for mass transit, school transportation, law enforcement, and military and government applications.
