In this role, she/he will be responsible for the recruitment of faculty and students, the continued development of the physical space and the model. Your role as Principal / Head of School is more than a manager of the campus, but rather you are the leader of a team designed to surround and support the student.. Oversee student safety, agency, and outcomes as well as the daily operation of the school.. Dedicated to creating an environment within the campus that fosters an atmosphere where students and teachers can experience innovative, supportive and experiential learning.. Strong Culture Builder & Leader of Adults. Manage a small but nimble team consisting of the Academy Dean and Operations Coordinator, as well as the campus budget.. Cultivate a culture of "Excellence in Teaching," and a healthy school atmosphere that defines, supports, achieves and articulates extraordinary student outcomes.. Recruit, coach and retain effective teachers as required, working to ensure exceptional course outlines, assessment and evaluation.. External & Community Relationships. Drive student recruitment in a way that ensures we remain socio-economically and culturally diverse by design.. Serve as the primary spokesperson for the school in the DC community with regards to parents, advocates and other school leaders.. Additional Responsibilities:. Assist with curriculum development and manage teacher training for the campus.. Conduct student entry interviews drawing upon input from Admissions and the President.. Work with the Dean to interface with parents and families with respect to issues (absences, behavior) as required.. Maintain appropriate liaison with local landlord and service providers as required.. Oversee the learning management and student information systems on a per term basis including transcript updates.. Ensure that ongoing student reporting requirements are met, as well as compliance with all company and accreditation policies and procedures as they affect the campus.. Work with the Director of Community Service on campus-wide community service initiatives and events.. Prepare and execute campus orientation programs, information sessions and other special events.. Assist in counseling students in secondary course selection over an academic year of four two-month terms.. Assist in counseling students on post-secondary plan including university applications.. In addition, we seek inspired individuals with:. Undergraduate degree, Masters degree preferred.. Minimum of 5 years teaching experience.. Significant education management experience, proven school leaders preferred.. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.. Strong leadership skills and proven track record of working effectively at the secondary school level.. Excellent computer skills.. The ability to flourish in a fast-paced environment.. Compensation:. Salary is commensurate with experience.
