Executive Director, Center on National Security and the Law - Georgetown University Law Center

The Georgetown Cen t e r on N at ional Security a n d the L aw (CNSL) is looking for a n experienced Executive Director (ED) to provide oversight and t o develop and coordin ate strategic goa l s o n b e h a l f of the Faculty Dir ec tor. The ED is responsible for the Center's operation along with designing and managing center initiatives, programs, and events, and achieving programmatic success while working with multiple stakeholders.

The Executive Director's duties include but are not limited to:
  • Engage in fundraising for the Center and the national security law program at Georgetown.
  • Initiate and manage key relat i ons hip s, support faculty priorities a n d st ud e nt interests, develop and im pl e m e n t sta nd a rd proce d u r e s and policies, s t re n gthen the Ce n ters' online prese n ce, and ensure that internal and exte rn al pa r t n e r s hip s are a li g n e d , consistent, and effective.
  • Work c l o s e ly wi t h t h e F a c ul t y Director to e n s ure s upport for faculty, fellows, st ud ents, and alum n i ; t o strengthen the Center' s position in the field and relat ion s h ips with co n st it uents; and to further n a t ional security law.
  • In partnership with Faculty Director, design and implement a strategic vision for the Center for National Security and the Law.
  • Institute policies and guidelines for center events and operations.
  • Provide career advice to JD and LL.M. students and help them to connect with alumni in the field.


Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor degree
  • 7+ years o f progressive exper i ence re l ate d to thi s field
  • Demonstrated organizational and gran t writ in g sk ill s and/ or private sec t or experience i s required


Preferred qualifications
  • Significant experience i n and stro n g knowledge of the field of national security l a w , st r ateg i c visi o n for CNSL, and s trong l e a d ershi p skills
  • Experience in an academic ad mini st r a ti on as we ll as project management and mentorship of junior colleagues and/or students
