The Senior Facilities Technician's primary role is the maintenance and repair of all mechanized and conveyor systems throughout the Distribution Center (DC). This position also aids in maintaining material handling equipment and overall building equipment that includes but is not limited to electrical work, plumbing, HVAC, batteries and dock door components. This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position. Some of our benefits include: Competitive Pay Medical/Dental/Vision Plans Discount: 50% on Elfa , 40% on Merchandise and Gift Cards, 30% on Installation Paid Time Off plus Holidays 401(k) plan and discretionary match Employee First Fund: providing grants to employees experiencing unforeseen emergencies Qualifications What You Bring To Us High school diploma or equivalent Minimum experience of 3 years working on general conveyor systems or 2 years working with Dematic conveyor systems Operating knowledge of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) operation, Cognex cameras, Sort Director, Flexsort and Visual conveyor system software Maintenance experience with material handling equipment and building equipment Based in Aberdeen area Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner Must be able to operate industrial power equipment Experience using electrical test equipment, hand tools, power tools, calipers, gauges, etc. Ability to read MEP (Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing) drawings and schematics Understanding and knowledge of SDS (Safety Data Sheets) information Strong computer skills: proficiency in Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher and knowledge of Excel Is committed to working scheduled hours and has the flexibility to work additional hours based on changing business needs Ability to pass background checks and investigations due to foreign, federal, state and local regulations; based on position responsibility and sensitivity, periodic check and reinvestigations may be performed Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a professional manner, both orally and in writing, at all levels within and outside the organization Ability to quickly separate the mission-critical tasks from the lower priority tasks; focuses on the most value-added projects of the day or week Flexible, with a positive attitude and passion for knowledge Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects at once Possesses focused attention to detail while working quickly and accurately under pressure Makes strategic and effective decisions in the best interest of our customers and our company, taking care to objectively process information Ability to work within and exemplify The Container Store brand which we describe as matchless, fun, authentic, team, sustainable, life-changing, unique, trust and partnership The Container Store promotes a smoke-free, drug-free environment.
