We are seeking candidates for our College Park, MD office, located within a few miles of Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will be able to design RF, Microwave, and Analog hardware solutions for our trapped ion quantum computer control systems, provide technical leadership in the development of high performance board and system level assemblies, and perform top level requirements analysis, system specification, block and component level designs and tradeoffs. Primary Responsibilities: Design 1 - 5 W power amplifiers for VHF, S, and Ku-band Design low phase noise RF synthesizers for VHF, S, and Ku-band Design low noise DC-DC converter circuits for analog and RF modules Create board level schematics and provide expertise in RF layout techniques Write test plans and procedures. Test circuit boards to prove they function as expected Write product specifications and user documentation Required Skills and Education: BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline >10 years experience in RF/Microwave/Analog circuit design Detailed understanding of RF specifications and analysis Working knowledge of laboratory test equipment and techniques Schematic capture Altium Designer (preferred), OrCAD, or Allegro Working knowledge of RF CAD tools such as Microwave Office, ADS, or Genesys Familiarity with Electro Optical Modulators and Acousto Optical Modulators Understanding of EMI, EMC, ESD standards and implementation Ability to solder/modify miniature SMT components for development purposes Experience with fast-paced commercial product development Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously and manage time effectively Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills. Ability to communicate effectively with cross functional teams Ability to mentor junior engineers
