The IT Systems Analyst works within the Division of Information Technology (DIT) at the University of Maryland, College Park. Responsibilities will focus on performing operations and maintenance tasks for current and future SaaS, PaaS, and locally hosted solutions in support of University needs. Tasks will include collaboration in support of implementation and integration of current and future systems and services, working with vendors in support of hosted solutions, and working with clients in support of their use of our services. Client interactions will include migrating services and diagnosing issues when encountered. Monitoring of systems and services, responding to alerts and performing root cause analysis are also part of the position's responsibilities. Minimum qualifications:EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree in a technical field from an accredited college or university OR 4 years' equivalent work experience;ANDMinimum 5 years' experience administering Canvas or a similar Learning Management System or hands-on application administration.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent oral and written communications skills PreferencesExperience administering hosted applications including acting as the agent between local customers and hosted support.Proficiency with UNIX/Linux shell scriptingProficiency with REST & SOAP APIsWorking knowledge of the AWS environment Physical demands: sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
