Thunderbolt Software LLC is seeking an Electrical Engineer to develop and integrate surveillance systems and communications networks for projects related to the Defense Industry in the greater Baltimore, Md. Area. These projects include upgrades to airborne surveillance systems and related ground control systems. Responsibilities:Perform a variety of electrical engineering tasks and activities that are concerned with requirements development, design, hardware/software integration, failure analysis, test and verification of electrical components, circuit card assemblies, and systems. Specific responsibilities include:Analysis and resolution of failures and other technical issues in a timely and effective manner.Development of electrical design requirements, evaluation of hardware designs, and development/review of detailed design/ documentation artifacts.Hardware test and hardware/software integration, checkout, and test.Conduct of Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) to identify risks and calculate probability of occurrence/criticality of failure modes for electrical components.Conduct of failure analysis and development of corrective actions in support of the Failure Reporting and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) process.Counterfeit and obsolescent parts risk assessment and identification of potential alternate components and solutions. Qualifications:The successful candidate must demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:Minimum of 2 years of electrical design or related design experience.Education Req: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Electrical Engineering or related field. in Electrical Engineering or related field.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Understanding of electronic, electrical, computer, and networking systems.Ability to work non-traditional hours, weekends & holidays.Ability to travel to CONUS and OCONUS sites.Ability to lift at least 25 lbs.Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance.U.S. Citizenship required.Other desired qualifications include:Experience with electrical component failure analysis, as well as FRACAS and FMECA analysis tools.Experience with airborne sensors and surveillance systems.Current US DOD Secret Security Clearance.Thunderbolt Software LLC is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
