We are looking for medical professionals who want to contribute to the outstanding quality of life that Fairfax citizens currently enjoy. As part of a care team, the Public Health Clinical Tech (PHCT) will primarily be responsible for the management and organization of the satellite pharmacy area and medication inventory management. The PHCT will also provide assistance to physicians and nurses within the Adult Detention Center and perform related work as required.

Responsible for the daily reconciliation of medication and supply deliveries to include comparing shipping invoice(s) with medication and supplies actually received. Prepares medication for return to the pharmacy supplier for credit or destruction using designated shipping labels & boxes. Prepares medication carts with all patient-inmate specific medications for a 24 hour period. Maintains organization and orderliness of medication carts and the pharmacy clinic area. Reorders medications for refill when supply is at 7 days. Conducts medication and supply inventory audit for pharmacy clinic area, stock medications on the medication cart, and in 10 satellite clinic area. Maintains hygienic work areas with the pharmacy clinic area. Properly store medications according to manufacturer/pharmacist recommendations.

Employment Standards

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from a clinical technician training program, such as that provided by the armed services; plus one year of experience as a clinical technician.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Appointees with be required to complete a criminal background check, a credit check, a pre-employment physical, a TB test, and a public safety background check to the satisfaction of the employer.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Pharmacy certification or Medication Certification.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to stand for 2 hours at a time. Ability to communicate effectively both written and oral. Duties may be performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
