Summary

This position plans, organizes, and directs day-to-day operations of the United States Mint Production Planning function. The incumbent reports to the Executive Officer for Manufacturing who in turn reports to the Associate Director for Manufacturing. This position is responsible along with the Associate Director for the development and continuous improvement of manufacturing materials planning, scheduling, and inventory responsibilities.

Responsibilities

As an Inventory Management Officer, you will:

- Direct the materials planning and master scheduling function for four operating Mints (West Point, Denver, Philadelphia, and San Francisco) across the circulating, bullion, and numismatic product lines.
- Interface with key customers, including the Federal Reserve Bank, to develop and utilize timely and accurate forecasting models for coin demand and production.
- Schedule and execute deliveries of all Mint products to over 130 Federal Reserve facilities around the country.
- In conjunction with the finance team, conduct annual A-123 audits and physical inventory of manufacturing facilities.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 14 days of the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized experience: For the GS-15, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience in developing and improving of manufacturing materials planning, scheduling, and inventory processes.

In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-15, you must have been at the GS-14 level for 52 weeks.
