Requirements

The Research Technician position is for a full time role. The incumbent will be primarily based within the Lippman laboratory and be involved in handling and analyzing patient samples along with overseeing and performing laboratory experiments. Currently, Research Technician will be involved in two research projects with the following aims, which may evolve as projects evolve and additional funding is available:

Project 1
  • Aim 1: To analyze the molecular profiles/immunophenotypes of BCC and establish a prospective BCC biospecimen bank.
  • Aim 2: To establish spontaneous/syngeneic BCC murine models.
  • Aim 3: To investigate immunotherapy combination strategies that augment anti-tumor immunity in BCC models.


Project 2
  • Aim 1: To assess immune activity and biomarkers in patients with advanced melanoma treated with nivolumab/ipilimumab plus cabozantinib.
  • Aim 2: To determine if sequential dosing of cabozantinib with anti-PD-1 plus anti-CLTA-4 therapy will enhance anti-tumor immunity and responses in a syngeneic murine melanoma model.


Qualifications
  • BA/BS (or equivalent)
  • Prior laboratory experience (minimum 1 year) in cell culture, vitro assays, such as drug exposure and cell viability, and animal husbandry

  • Additional degrees/experience
  • Prior training and/or laboratory experiencing in oncology and immunology
  • RNA/DNA extraction, quantification and preparation for gene expression and sequencing
  • PCR
  • Western blot
  • Elisa
  • Cancer cell culturing
  • siRNA, shRNA, and/or CRISPER
  • Flow cytometry
  • Tumor implantation in animal models, monitoring tumor changes/metastasis
  • Animal dosing of agents via oral gavage and intraperitoneal injection
