Responsibilities: A commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate level is fundamental to these positions and to the mission of the George Mason University. With the appointment of the director of senior projects, the department seeks to fill this leadership position with a term faculty member responsible for leveraging her/his experiences to further develop its industry-sponsored senior capstone program.

Required Qualifications: Applicants for Assistant Professor rank must have received a PhD in mechanical engineering, or a related field, by the start date of the position. Applicants who have received an MS in mechanical engineering, or a related field, by the start date of the position will be considered for Instructor positions. Applicants should possess a strong commitment to and demonstrated excellence in teaching.

Preferred Qualifications: An earned doctorate in mechanical engineering or a closely related discipline from an institution that holds regional accreditation and relevant industry experience that would enrich the learning experience needed for the practice of engineering, are preferred.
