Term Assistant Professor/Instructor of Chinese

The George Mason University Department of Modern and Classical Languages invites applications for a one-year, renewable Term Assistant Professor position in Chinese to begin August 2017. Responsibilities: * Duties include 12 credit hours of language instruction per semester at all levels; requires availability to teach evening classes; and * Service responsibilities include undergraduate student advising and informal mentoring of part-time instructors.

Required Qualifications: * M.A. degree in Chinese or relevant field (Ph.D. is preferred, desirably with specialization in applied linguistics or SLA); * Native or near-native fluency in both Chinese and English; and * Demonstrated excellence in university teaching in North America.

Preferred Qualifications: * Preference will be given to candidates conversant with instructional technology.
