Summary

This position is located in the Office of the Associate Director - Chief Information Officer; Bureau of Engraving and Printing. This position reports to the Associate Director, Chief Information Officer (CIO). The CIO's office oversees all technology, production development, manufacturing for both the Washington, DC (DCF) and Western Currency (WCF) facilities at the BEP and shares in the responsibility for the successful management of the BEP mission in an effective and efficient manner.

As an Executive Assistant, you will:

- Manage the immediate Office of the CIO, recommend changes in administrative policies; develop and implement procedures and practices for own and subordinate offices.

- Gather data, draft or format full or specific portions of reports and compilations. Responsible for the timely completion of these products while ensuring their confidentiality.

- Subject matter is generally specialized and not a matter of widespread knowledge, and requires collection from numerous sources. Organize the material, identifying emphasis and varied relevance.

- Determine the need for administrative or procedural revisions to instructions utilized by the CIO's administrative support staff. Prepare the necessary issuances and present them to the CIO for signature.

- Serve in an administrative liaison capacity between the CIO and subordinate offices, the Director's office, both Currency Facilities, the Department, other Federal agencies, and the private sector.

SUITABILITY, CLEARANCE & REQUIREMENTS: A background investigation will be required for all new hires. The background investigation process conducted by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing is very thorough. Falsification discovered in security documents or during the background investigation process may result in an immediate negative suitability determination or immediate revocation of your interim clearance (if applicable).

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized experience: For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: providing administrative or analytical support services to supervisors or managers and interpreting and analyzing office administrative operations and policies and recommending changes to improve effectiveness and consistency of administrative operations.

Examples of such experience are:
- Researching issues, conducting special analysis, recommending solutions, and developing these into decision papers or decision making tools; OR
- Drafting communications and briefing tools (speeches, talking points) and/or individual correspondence or responses; OR
- Ensuring follow-up/completion of specific activities/projects/programs/initiatives; OR
- Researching and interpreting information needed to prepare reports, and to respond to requests for information; OR
- Planning trip itineraries and making travel arrangements; OR
-Coordinating and planning routine administrative functions such as troubleshooting office support issues, scheduling meetings and conferences, controlling correspondence, and appointment calendars for management.


In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-12, you must have been at the GS-11 level for 52 weeks.
