Summary

This position is located in the Application Development Division (ADD) of the United States Mint. The ADD is responsible for providing the information technology (IT) services and infrastructure, facilities, logistical and administrative support that the Mint needs to accomplish its mission. By consistently meeting the needs of the organization in a timely and customer oriented manner, ADD enables and assists the lines of business and the support functions in meeting their strategic goals.

As a Supervisory Information Technology Program Manager, you will:
  • Develop, plan, direct and research technology and industry best practices related to Application Development support business operations.
  • Evaluate existing ADD Application Development processes; identify more efficient ways to accomplish goals; use regular assessments and adjustments to meet customer requirements and continuously improve processes; and manage business process mapping.
  • Monitor performance of all Application Development support contractors including establishing/monitoring monthly/quarterly/annual performance metrics. Conduct cyclic contractor performance reviews and ensures formal written contractor performance evaluations are completed on time and in accordance with law and regulation.
  • Propel progress on executing assigned United States Mint strategic goals and objectives including but not limited to leading Project Teams to champion and ensure on-time execution of assigned projects and high-quality delivery of products and services.
  • Supervise Application Development Division staff, including selecting or recommending selection, training, assigning and evaluating work, counseling, disciplining, and/or termination or recommending termination.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized experience: For the GS-15, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:

- Managing an Information Technology service organization responsible for developing, planning, and implementing modern technology, such as open source and agile development processes and how they address service design including user-centered design and development practices.; AND
- Managing software applications in support of mission critical business operations to include distributed, cloud, and web-based commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS), and custom applications.

In addition to meeting specialized experience, applicants must also show proficiency in 1) attention to detail, 2) customer service, 3) oral communication, and 4) problem solving.
