Assistant Director, iMBA Programs
The University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business is seeking a well-qualified Assistant Director for iMBA Programs to join the Online Master’s Programs Office. One of 13 schools and colleges located on the University of Maryland, College Park campus, the Smith School is a recognized leader in management research and education for the global economy. The school is consistently ranked among the world’s top business schools by leading business publications such as Business Week, Financial Times, Economist and the Wall Street Journal.
This position is responsible for the administrative and logistic aspects of program delivery and development at the Online Master’s Programs Office of the Robert H. Smith School of Business. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing exceptional services and support to students and faculty, delivering effective and efficient service operations, coordinating with internal and external offices & partners in service and program delivery, marketing and promoting Smith open online courses through various outlets including MOOC platforms and social media. This position is responsible for staffing and supervising day-to-day services under the designated responsibility area.
Minimum Qualifications: BA/BS degree required, plus a minimum of 5 years, hands-on client service, event and/or project coordination experience. 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience; strong customer service values; positive and helpful attitude in all professional situations. Proven organizational skills and attention to details; ability to work efficiently and produce quality results; ability to work independently as well as in a team. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate in a courteous, tactful and concise manner; proficiency in current word processing, email, spreadsheet, and presentation software; willingness and ability to learn information and instructional software and audiovisual equipment; willingness to take on duties outside of specific job functions to serve needs of the School. Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends as required to support Smith online programs.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in higher education administration; experience with Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs); experience working with and interest in Adobe Connect, EdX, Learning Management Systems/Canvas, other information and learning technologies; experience in program marketing and promotions through social media outlets.
A drive to serve and deliver quality results; Master’s degree in related field.
