The Air Force Association is seeking an outgoing morning receptionist to serve as the “face of AFA”  and daily HR & Administration support. This is a full-time position split between a morning reception shift and administrative operations. This position includes a strong emphasis on superior customer service and professionalism.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities as Receptionist

  •  Presents extremely professional appearance at all times
  •  Staffs reception desk for entire shift (morning or afternoon)
  • Receives and directs incoming calls and e-faxes in a timely manner
  • Warmly greets visitors and informs staff member of their visitor
  • Provides excellent customer service support to callers and visitors
  • Maintains familiarity with current events within association
  • Schedule and plan meetings and appointments
  • Works with member relations team to understand member benefits and programs
  • Distributes parking tokens as needed
  •  Signs for deliveries in absence of mailroom personnel

Essential Duties and Responsibilities as Human Resources Associate

  • Posts job ads; processes background checks; prepares new hire packets; assists with new staff orientation and other onboarding duties as assigned
  • Operates centralized purchasing system for office supplies
  • Maintains paper files of fully executed contracts
  • Assist with employee benefits plan administration
  • Assist with ADP processes including timecard management, payroll processing and reporting
  • Provides general administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the office

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new programs such as ADP or Intacct
  • Ability to multitask and a maintain a friendly disposition
  • Punctuality and dependability are imperative
  • Ability to adhere to reception desk protocol
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in the handling of sensitive matters


  • High school diploma; 4-year degree is a plus but not required
  • Pleasant and professional demeanor and ability to work well with others
  • Experience with general office tasks (typing, answering phones, etc) is preferred
  • Prior customer service experience
  • Desire to thrive in a fast-paced environment and grow within responsibility
