Job Summary:
Westat is seeking qualified individuals to join a dynamic program in public health-related social marketing and health communication. We are seeking an experienced professional with expertise in communication, public health and social marketing campaigns, partnership development, social media strategy, and business development. Experience in successfully targeting diverse populations, including children, young adults, and minority groups and working with public health clients with message about health topics is highly preferred.
Job Responsibilities:
· Support the development and implementation of strategic communication and partner engagement plans.
· Plan and implement outreach and education programs and events.
· Conduct research, identify, and engage partners (individuals and organizations) to support public health campaigns and health marketing initiatives.
· Draft accurate, compelling, audience appropriate content for health marketing materials and social media on chronic disease, reproductive health, infectious disease, immunization, and other public health topics.
· Support the development and coordination of training and technical assistance to grantees and partners.
· Assist with planning and implementation of public outreach and education programs and events, including conferences.
· Maintain client relationships, deliver strategic counsel, and proactively identify and propose solutions for project challenges.
· Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
· A Bachelor's degree in public health, communications, or related field.
· At least 3 years of experience overseeing planning and assistance to clients in public health communications programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
· A Master's degree.
You must be an innovative communications strategist familiar with public relations best practices, integrated marketing, partnership and stakeholder engagement, and event and grantee management and the have demonstrated ability to lead the execution of these tasks. Candidates should have experience supporting partnerships to disseminate campaign messaging related to a range of public health topics as well as contributing to business development efforts. Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills is essential.
