Employer Name: CropLife America Position Title: Director, Reg ulatory Advocacy, Plant Biotechnology Location: Washington, DC Responsible for enabling the CLI Global Regulatory Strate gy1 by working with and syn chronizing efforts of regional networks (EU, Latin America, Asia, Africa, US, Canada) and CLI regulatory teams consist ing of volunteers from CLI member companies. The Director of Regulatory Advo cacy is primarily responsible for initiating and implement ing strategic plans involved in enabling this global regulato ry strategy which is one of the highest priorities of CLI members. I: Essential Job Functions: · Work to improve connectivi ty between the global regulatory strategy and the deliver ables of CLI's global/regional network · Hold global/regional net works accountable for achieving identified regulatory deliverables and driving these to attain the global regulatory strategy as stipulated by CLI · Provide outcome-based metrics for engagement and action of the regulatory teams and global network ·Streamline and focus CLI reg ulatory teams' efforts towards clear and well-articu lated goals to achieve the CLI global regulatory strategy ·Prepare and control the bud get and expenditures for the Regulatory Project Teams. ·Report progress on regula tory activities and advocacy to the Executive Director and the CropLife International Plant Biotechnology Regula tory Committee ·Serve as secretary to CropLife International's Biotechnology Regulatory Steering Committee in addi tion to other regulatory project and expert teams. · Support the Executive Direc tor in representing plant biotechnology industry in high profiled international meetings such as the Orga nization for Economic Coop eration and Development (OECD), International Society for Biosafety Research, and other international forums engaging with regulators on behalf of CLI member compa nies. · Hosting government dele gates from countries of importance and priorities for CLI member companies. · Develop and sustain biotech regulatory-specific relation ships with key international governmental organizations, such as OECD and Codex. · Develop industry positions on key plant biotech issues. · Achieve alignment of com pany and association views to reach a common global position on regulatory issues affecting plant biotechnology. · Develop strategies to imple ment policies and positions by calling on academic experts, industry experts, and other third party experts and by working with the regional and national associations. · Maintain constructive rela tionships with representa tives of international govern mental and non-governmen tal organizations on issues related to regulatory policy. II: Experience or Qualifica tions Required: · 8 years of regulatory/advo cacy experience with regard to the plant science industry, of which at least 5 years involved managing media relationships, communicating government policy trends and regulatory shifts, and serving on industry, government and agricultural committees · Well networked in the plant biotechnology industry. · Substantial experience with international regulatory processes for plant biotech nology. · Knowledgeable of the plant science industry and its busi ness environment · Travel Required (30% of time) III: Educational Requirements: · Bachelor's Degree in Agri cultural Science, or a closely related field.
