Responsibilities

  • Performs a wide variety of administrative work, office management, and assisting with implementing approved policies and coordinating required management actions within the AD area.
  • Screens mail including correspondence, directives and publications and determines necessary action, while routing important or technical material to appropriate directorate for action ensuring timeliness, completeness, proper format, and grammar.
  • Applies in-depth knowledge of office automation, software applications, the internet, electronic mail, electronic calendars, and laptop computers to support the Assistant Director.
  • Arrange schedules, appointments, meetings, conferences, and travel including location, agenda, and attendance list. Sends reminders and provides background information/material and reschedules and when necessary.
  • Knowledge of a variety of administrative policies, computer programs, analytical techniques, researching, and communicate effectively both orally and written.

Specialized Experience Requirement:
For the GS-07 level:
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-05 level in the Federal service that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as experience performing a wide variety of analytical administrative support work as well as office management and related activities; Applying an in-depth knowledge of office automation, software applications, the internet, electronic mail, electronic calendars, and laptop computers to support key issues.

One full year of graduate level education;
OR
An appropriate combination of graduate level education and specialized experience;
OR

The education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.

TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENT: If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. This requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
