Job Description

The Washington Post is looking for a dynamic, client-facing professional with account management and some sales experience to join our Enterprise Solutions Team as an Associate. Through engagement, outreach, and the overall retention strategy, you will build and strengthen client relationships. Challenging, stimulating and highly rewarding, this is a critical position on the team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Retain & grow active accounts
  • Onboard new clients & ensure successful set-up of accounts
  • Interact with the client about administering & growing the account
  • Build/maintain strong client relationships
  • Maintain complete records on active/historic advertiser activity using Salesforce.com
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends as they pertain to your accounts
  • Quickly respond to client needs and facilitate trouble-shooting with client accounts
  • Communicate effectively across various levels of the organization, internally and externally


Requirements include:

  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree
  • 3 - 5 years of account management and/or sales experience
  • Excellent organization, time management and follow-through
  • Ability to effectively manage/service 75+ accounts
  • Willingness to travel
  • Effective communication skills that strengthen client relationships
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, and Powerpoint
  • Proven ability to communicate in a creative, persuasive style
  • Ability to handle stress in a deadline-driven environment
  • Goal-oriented & results-driven; ability to exceed goals & objectives
  • Experience with Salesforce.com (desired)
