Responsibilities

  • Understand industry technology trends, determine applicability and suitability for solving business problems and avoid technology obsolescence with IT business applications.
  • Recommend the selection of technologies and products to be used for systems and applications development, including all layers of the chosen technology stack (e.g., platforms, programming languages, and tools).
  • Leads, develops and maintains System Health Dashboards including performance standards/operations metrics and Service Level Agreements.
  • Prepares and presents proposals and position papers to key stakeholders (e.g., IT and Business Program and Project Managers, CIO Senior Leadership, CIO and CIO's peers) for technology direction concurrence.

Qualifications

All qualification requirements must be met within 30 days of the announcement closing date.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT (S):

Time-In-Grade Requirement: In order to be eligible for this position, all current Federal employees must provide proof of meeting the time-in-grade requirement (i.e., at least 52 weeks of experience at the next lower grade level in the Federal service). This information must be in both your resume and on an SF-50. Those who do not provide proof of having met the time-in-grade requirement will be deemed ineligible for this position.

You may start at GS-14 ($117,191), if you meet the following minimum qualification requirements.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Specialized Experience- is defined as one year of experience at the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the private sector responsible for the industry's technology trends, determining applicability and suitability for solving business problems and avoiding technology obsolescence with IT business applications. Examples may include driving technology and architectural direction of COTS packages such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Case Management, Document Management, and Business Intelligence or similar products used in developing Business applications, shared services, or custom applications.

In addition to the above, your experience must demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
  • Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

    How You Will Be Evaluated

    You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

    Referral: You will be assigned to one of three quality groups. Each group represents a quality level (i.e., Best Qualified, Qualified, Minimally Qualified). Candidates will be considered in quality group order. If you are among the top qualified candidates, your application may be referred to a selecting official for consideration. You may be required to participate in a selection interview (telephonic and/or in person at the discretion of the Selecting Official in accordance with hiring polices).
