Summary

This position is located in the Department of Compact Operations, Office of Strategic Partnerships (OSP). OSP is recruiting for the 2019 Student Volunteer Intern Program. Interns will have an opportunity to develop in-demand professional skills while supporting the development of MCC's partnering infrastructure (e.g., guidance, toolkits, case studies).

Responsibilities

As an intern you will have an opportunity to develop in-demand professional skills while supporting the development of MCC's partnering infrastructure (e.g., guidance, toolkits, case studies). In your OSP intern role you will:
  • support MCC's co-creative discussions with prospective partners;
  • customize PowerPoint presentations for the internal roll-out of MCC's new partnering guidance,;
  • interview senior professionals to identify important lessons from previous experience and write compelling case studies;
  • research potential partner organizations in preparation for meetings and MCC executive briefings;
  • practice honing organizational, actionable research and professional communications skills essential in the international development field.

Qualifications

To be eligible for this Student Volunteer Internship position:
  • You must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an accredited two-year or four-year college or university, graduate or professional school (go to www.ope.ed.gov/accreditation/ to verify accreditation status). Individuals who are enrolled must be taking at least a half-time academic, vocational, or technical course load leading to a degree, diploma, or certificate.
  • In good academic standing.
  • Must be currently enrolled at least half-time."Half-time" is defined by the school in which the student is enrolled.
  • Desirable: Candidates with curiosity, initiative, strong writing abilities, attention to detail and interviewing skills are encouraged to apply.

    Additional information

    All internships are NON-PAID. The student is considered a volunteer and is not entitled to compensation or overtime during any portion of this assignment. However, a transportation benefit may be provided depending on availability of funds.
