Overview Peraton is actively seeking a SATCOM Engineering Technician to join our team at the NASA Blossom Point Remote Station near La Plata, MD. As a lead member of the site technician staff, you'll be responsible for operations and maintenance to include assistance in the planning, scheduling and overseeing all maintenance, preventive maintenance tasks, engineering change work and software/firmware upgrade activities in a Satellite Ground Station environment. Responsibilities What you'll do Oversees and coordinates work activities; including assessing task requirements, objectives, and priorities. Resolves problems and conflicts. Responsible for operations and maintenance in a semi-rotating shift environment of the BPRS. Assists Site Engineer and Site Management in the planning, scheduling and overseeing all maintenance, preventive maintenance, engineering change work and software/firmware upgrades activities. Provides positive leadership to personnel and coaches and motivates teams. Ensures workplace and personnel safety by identifying and mitigating risks and intervenes to prevent mishaps. Coordinates training activities, conducts OJT, and certifies lower level technicians. Monitors technical and professional performance and acts quickly to correct deficiencies. Reports to and advises BPGT management on all related operational and technical matters. Assisted by subordinate technicians, performs corrective preventive and corrective maintenance actions, and evaluates equipment performance. Acts quickly to correct deficiencies. Identifies and troubleshoots system problems, conducts tests using specialized instrumentation and test equipment, analyzes results to restore systems, and documents and reports results. Assist with COMSEC account management. Implements and ensures adherence to operational, maintenance and organizational procedures and policies. Ensures secure and positive control of critical resources. Reviews, edits and recommends changes to technical and process documentation. Qualifications You'd be a great fit if you have An Associate Degree (or equivalent) and 2+ years' experience. 2 years' experience with Windows, Linux, UNIX, Remedy, Maximo, and AutoCAD. 2 years' experience in MS Management Products and tools. It'd be even better if you Have knowledge of NASA SN and TDRS operations and maintenance is a plus. Have prior experience with Satellite Earth/Ground Station operations and maintenance. Possess a broad detailed knowledge of electronics. Have experience in network administration (CCNA, Network+ or other certifications is a plus).
